24.02.2025 - 02.03.2025       Park-Museum of Interactive History Sula

Maslenitsa is one of the brightest and most cheerful holidays in Belarus, which symbolizes the farewell to winter and the welcome of spring. In 2025, Maslenitsa week will run from February 24 to March 2. This is the time when people make pancakes, take part in folk festivities, burn the Maslenitsa effigy and enjoy the last days before Lent.

Where to celebrate Maslenitsa in Belarus?

  1.  Minsk:
The capital traditionally hosts large-scale celebrations in parks (for example, in Gorky Park, Chelyuskintsev Park).
Fairs, concerts, pancake-making workshops and folk games are organized.
The culmination is the burning of the Maslenitsa effigy.
  2. Museum of Folk Architecture and Life in Strochitsy (near Minsk):
Here you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of traditional Belarusian Maslenitsa.
Guests can enjoy folk songs, dances, games and treats.
  3. Grodno:
This city often hosts theatrical performances and festivities in the city center. You can try local treats and take part in competitions.
  4. Vitebsk:
Maslenitsa is celebrated here on a grand scale, with fairs and concerts on the square. It will be especially interesting to visit the festival in the historical part of the city.
  5. Medieval History Park "Grand Duchy of Sula"
A fascinating journey awaits you, during which you will pass a test and become a participant in the struggle of the forces of nature of winter and spring.
Fascinating games and tasks await you that will help you unravel the mystery associated with the arrival of spring.
After the excursion, all adults will enjoy a tasting and free treats, and little guests will enjoy Maslenitsa pancakes with tea.

Maslenitsa in Belarus is not only delicious treats, but also an opportunity to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of folk traditions and fun. If you are planning to visit the holiday in 2025, we can help you with organizing a tour in Belarus (booking hotels, transfers, excursions).
